3DBigDataSpace at the 20th European Researchers’ Night
Published on 25 Sep 2025
On 26 September 2025, cities across Europe are celebrating the 20th edition of the European Researchers’ Night, one of the continent’s largest science outreach events. This annual initiative is designed to bring science closer to the public, inspire curiosity, and showcase how research impacts our daily lives.
We are proud that our PCSS - one of our consortium partners will be part of this milestone celebration, contributing to a diverse programme that highlights the intersection of technology, innovation, and society.
The Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PCSS) has a long tradition of participating in the European Researchers’ Night, opening its headquarters to the public and inviting audiences of all ages to discover the world of science and technology.
This year’s edition will feature an impressive line-up of workshops, demos, and interactive experiences, including:
- Preparing Digital Copies of Old Photographs
Visitors can learn how to digitise old negatives using professional tools, creating high-quality digital versions. This workshop also connects to PCSS’s work in digitising the historic collections of the Palace in Turew. - Quantum Adventure: Motion, Spin & Entanglement
An interactive introduction to quantum computing where participants become qubits themselves—experiencing concepts like superposition and entanglement through movement and play. - How to Record a Professional Podcast?
A hands-on session guiding participants in planning, recording, and producing podcasts, showing how researchers can communicate their work beyond traditional academic journals. - Computers & Quanta
A guided tour of the PCSS server room, home to Europe’s fastest quantum computer, alongside engaging presentations on quantum technologies. - Multimedia & 3D
Live demonstrations of 3D printing and scanning, plus the chance to step into the shoes of a TV journalist. - Open Entertainment & Technology Space
Activities ranging from VR and light painting to robotics, drones, interactive games, and hands-on engineering challenges.
Why It Matters?
By combining entertainment with education, PCSS and the 3DBigDataSpace project are making cutting-edge technologies accessible to everyone. Whether it’s children exploring robotics, students discovering quantum physics, or families learning about digitisation, the event demonstrates the power of science to inspire and connect.
Join the Celebration and don’t miss the opportunity to experience science in action and celebrate the 20th anniversary of this unique European event.
