Thank You for Your Contributions to the Data Synergy Grant Call!
We are delighted to announce that the first Data Synergy Grant call within the 3DBigDataSpace project has come to a successful conclusion, with 40 valid applications received from 19 different countries!

This enthusiastic response highlights the growing momentum behind the creation of a cross-border, connected ecosystem for 3D cultural heritage data. We would like to thank all the applicants and everyone who supported the call by sharing and promoting it within their networks.

What’s next?
The evaluation phase is currently underway, and all applicants will be notified by 31 July 2025.
Starting in October 2025, the selected projects will begin the data aggregation process, which will run until January 2026.

This grant will provide two 3D projects with €10,000 each to support the integration of their 3D assets and metadata into the European common data space for cultural heritage. The selected projects will benefit from long-term preservation, semantic enrichment and increased visibility within the broader digital heritage ecosystem.

This call marks a key milestone in our efforts to improve the findability, reusability and interoperability of 3D content across Europe. It demonstrates the widespread interest in shaping the future of digital heritage and highlights the importance of collaboration across borders, institutions and disciplines.

About the Data Synergy Grant
The call was launched in April 2025 under the coordination of the Time Machine Organisation (TMO). It targeted a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including museums, universities, research groups and public and private heritage digitisation organisations. The focus was on existing 3D heritage data, with an emphasis on both reality-based and source-based models, whether enriched or raw.

What's coming up?
This is just the beginning! The Data Synergy Grant is the first in a series of calls within the TMO Synergy Grants Programme. Upcoming opportunities will focus on application development, digitisation training and further collaborative innovation.

Stay tuned as we share more of the selected projects and other exciting developments in the months ahead.
Together, let's shape the future of 3D cultural heritage.
