Workshop: 3D Technologies to Safeguard Cultural Heritage
How can advanced 3D technologies help preserve, connect, and reactivate Europe’s cultural heritage?

The upcoming workshop “3D Technologies to Safeguard Cultural Heritage”, organised within the framework of the 3DBigDataSpace Project, brings together researchers, cultural heritage professionals, technologists, and innovators to explore the growing role of 3D technologies in the cultural heritage sector.

As Europe continues to invest in digital infrastructures and the Common European Data Space for Cultural Heritage, questions surrounding interoperability, large-scale 3D data, digitisation workflows, accessibility, and reuse are becoming increasingly important. The workshop provides a space for interdisciplinary exchange around these developments and highlights how emerging technologies can contribute to more connected, accessible, and sustainable digital heritage ecosystems.

Participants will gain insights into current developments in:

  • 3D digitisation and documentation workflows

  • AI-supported enrichment and analysis

  • immersive and interactive technologies

  • large-scale cultural heritage data infrastructures

  • applications for research, tourism, education, and public engagement

  • interoperability and data reuse within European cultural heritage initiatives

The workshop also offers an opportunity to connect with experts and practitioners working at the intersection of cultural heritage, technology, and innovation.

We warmly encourage researchers, students, cultural heritage professionals, developers, and anyone interested in the future of digital heritage to participate and join the discussion.
